Panthers Deal With Weather Again At Jackson State

Teams will attempt to play two games Sunday

JACKSON, Miss. – The Milwaukee baseball team dropped a 7-5 decision in game one of a doubleheader against Jackson State Saturday afternoon, with game two of the day postponed after trying to wait out a rain delay.

The Panthers (3-1) lead game two against the Tigers (2-3), by a score of 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning. The contest will resume from that point Sunday.

Milwaukee battled back after an early lead in the opener, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate in the ninth before coming up short.

One tough inning did in the Panthers, who led 2-0 right out of the gates but gave up five runs in the fifth inning to trail 5-2.

The team came up with an immediate response, scoring twice in the sixth to trim the deficit to one run. Jack Kraus scored on a passed ball and Devin Rybacki had an RBI-single in the frame.

MKE was unable to hold the Tigers there, allowing a run in the bottom of the innings.

Colin Kreiter cracked his first home run in the seventh to make it 6-5. JSU again had the answer, scoring an insurance run in the seventh to seal the win.

Kreiter finished 3-for-3 with three RBI, also driving in the first two runs of the day. Rybacki went 2-for-2 and was on base all five times with three walks.

As stated, today's game will resume play at 10 a.m. tomorrow. The teams then plan to play Sunday's originally scheduled contest.
