MILWAUKEE, Wis. – After last weekend's cancellation due to inclement weather, the Milwaukee swim & dive teams will travel to Green Bay Saturday. The meet will take place at the Dorschel Natatorium and begin at 12 p.m.

Once Saturday concludes, the Panthers will have just one dual meet remaining before Conference Championships in February.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Last year, the men's team earned third place overall at the Horizon League Championships, their highest finish since 2004 when they finished as runner-ups, while the women took sixth place out of the eight-team conference.

The Phoenix return diver Derrick Prenot and junior swimmers Riley Darling and Ricky Davis. Prenot finished 11th in the 3 meter event and 15th in the 1 meter at last year's championships, while Darling is the 2018 defending Horizon League Champion in the 200 butterfly.

In duals this season, the men have won two meets defeating Valparaiso and Oakland, while the women are 1-4 with a victory over Valparaiso as well.

GB will also be celebrating Senior Day on Saturday with an 11:30 a.m. ceremony.

LAST TIME OUT: The last time the Panthers took the pool competitively was at the Miami Invitational held back on Nov. 29-Dec. 1. A look by the numbers, the Panthers swam 216 season best times and 62 new personal records were set at the Invite.

At the three-day event, the men's team finished in third place scoring a grand total of 988.5 points – 3.5 points shy of runner-up.

Veteran Patrick Kelley picked up two A Finals with his highest finish coming in the 400 IM for sixth. In the 200 Butterfly, Kelly clocked in 1:50.80 for seventh.

Freshman Mason Schoof also collected two A Finals in the 200 Backstroke and the 200 Free. Schoof's highest finish was in the 200 back with a seventh-place finish, while landing in ninth place in the 200 free.

On the women's side, the relay teams paced MKE with top finishes in the 200 Free Relay (eighth) and 200 Medley Relay (eight and ninth). In the 200 Medley, Giulia Guerra-Montes, Jenn Kordik, Cecilia Ostergren and Shelby Rozeboom finished just ahead of an all-freshmen squad Mia Piljevic, Adrea Bellart, Isabella Passamani, and Cassandra Hutchins.

Two MKE relay teams also finished in top nine in the 800 Freestyle race. Addison Skogman, Shelby Rozeboom, Annabelle Ladik and Emma Helgeson led the charge for a sixth-place finish, while Passamani, Guerra Montes, Hutchins and Sydney Dahl finished right behind for eighth.

CHE GRANDE! The Italian newcomer, Giulia Guerra-Montes has made quite the splash freshman for the MKE Panthers. Guerra-Montes has excelled in all of her events claiming a top spot at the podium in every dual meet so far for a total of five event wins.

LEAGUE RECOGNITION: With two dive event wins at the All-Wisconsin Showcase on Oct. 20, Dakota Skenandore was named Horizon League Diver of the Week for the week of Oct. 22.

The West Bend native won the 1 meter and 3 meter, scoring 300.50 points in the 1 meter – an NCAA Zone standard.

This marks the fourth time that Skenandore has garnered with the award.

NEXT UP: MKE will close out the regular season at home for Senior Day against DIII powerhouse, UW-Stevens Point Saturday, Feb. 2 beginning at 1 p.m. from the Klotsche Natatorium.
