Panthers Tripped Up by Flames in Game Two of the HL Tournament

DAYTON, Ohio – The Milwaukee baseball team came up short in game two of the Horizon League Baseball Championship falling by a score of 6-0 to No. 2 UIC Thursday afternoon from Nischwitz Stadium.

The Panthers had trouble getting the bats going against UIC starter Ryan Campbell, the 2018 Horizon League Pitcher of the Year who came into the game with a 1.69 ERA – the 14th best in the NCAA this season.

Campbell threw a complete game shutout, striking out five and walking none. He retired 23 in a row following a single by Ben Chally in the second inning.

UIC did all of it's damage in two innings, stringing together seven hits for five runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Panthers have a quick turnaround following the loss to UIC. MKE will take on Youngstown State at 6 p.m. CT in an elimination game. Winner will take on the loser between No. 1 Wright State and No. 2 UIC.
