Szczepanski Inducted Into Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame

MILWAUKEE - Former University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer player Jon Szczepanski was recently inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame.

Szczepanski, who was honored in the 2014 class along with eight others, was a four-year letterwinner for the Panthers from 1985 to 1988.

He led the team in scoring with 23 points as a senior, netting a team-high 10 goals. The 1988 Team MVP, he earned First-Team All-Big Central Conference honors that season and went on to play professionally for 12 seasons.

He was a three-time all-state player at Milwaukee James Madison High School and was selected in the first round of the Major Indoor Soccer League Draft by the Milwaukee Wave, earning All-Rookie Team honors his first season. He also played five years for the Milwaukee Rampage, leading them to a national championship in 1997.

His coaching career has included stops with the Wisconsin Badgers, Yale and the Milwaukee Rampage.
