MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team will be the sixth seed in the 2014 Horizon League Championship and hit the road to take on Wright State University Monday in first-round action.

The Panthers finished 3-3-2 in the Horizon League, accumulating 11 points in the league standings. Courtesy of their 2-0 victory over Detroit Friday, the team guaranteed itself a shot at postseason play and will look for a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.

It all came down to the final day of regular season competition to determine the overall field and regular-season champion.
Oakland and Detroit each earned a share of the regular season title after collecting 18 points in conference play. The Golden Grizzlies defeated the Titans 2-1 in double-overtime on Oct. 1
st to win the tie-breaker and will serve as the championship host for the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 13th and the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 15th.
Detroit is the No. 2 seed, and like Oakland, will receive a bye into the semifinals on Thursday.
The tournament will begin on Monday, Nov. 10th with quarterfinal matchups at third-seed Wright State and fourth-seeded Cleveland State. The Raiders will take on sixth-seeded Milwaukee while the Viking will host fifth-seeded Valparaiso.

The Panthers earned the right to defend their Horizon League Tournament Championship from 2013 by claiming the final spot in the top six of the regular-season standings. They will be looking for some redemption as well against the Raiders, a team that handed them a 3-0 loss back in Dayton in early October.

Fighting through transition from last season and numerous injuries, Milwaukee righted the ship at the end of the season and went 3-2-1 over its final six games.

A pair of freshmen lead the team in scoring heading into the postseason, with
Reid Stevenson and
Petter Ingebrigtsen both netting a team-high five goals and 11 points to date.

Milwaukee leads the series against WSU by a 17-7-4 count, but the Raiders have gone 4-2-2 since 2008.
