MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 26, 2012) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team scored four first-half goals and coasted in the second half to upend Cleveland State 5-0 Friday evening at Engelmann Stadium.

The Panthers (6-8-1, 5-2 Horizon) claimed a share of a Horizon League regular season championship for the 13th-straight season. UWM tied Detroit in the league standings, but holds a tiebreaker over the Titans to secure hosting rights to next week's Horizon League Tournament. Game times and opponents will be announced by the league office at the end of the weekend.

"Good performance by our team," UWM head coach Greg Henschel said. "We were in the right place. We've worked all season to get in the right place and it really showed. Our staff and our team believed in each other the entire season and there was never a doubt that we would get this win."

Milwaukee jumped on the Vikings (6-11, 2-5 Horizon) early, matching its previous season high for goals by halftime. Senior Sammy Vovos got the scoring start in just the fifth minute on Senior Day. The tally went down as the game-winner and came off assists from Kelsey Holbert and Krissy Dorre, both of whom would add goals of their own later in the half.

Dorre scored the first of her two scores in the 26th minute from Sara Stern and found the back of the net again in the 35th minute off a pass from Vienna Behnke. Holbert would make it 4-0 just 1:27 later and send the Panthers into the break with the game well in control.

Henschel was able to get every active field player in the game in the second half, as just three players played all 90 minutes and 10 players off the bench played at least 20 minutes each.

The reserves got in the act as Sara Zawacki capped the game's scoring in the 84th minute, finished off a centering pass from Vovos, while Callie O'Donnell got her first point with an assist on a pass from the endline.

Milwaukee was never really threatened in the match, holding a handy 20-7 advantage in shots and 6-1 in corner kicks. Jamie Forbes did make four saves in the match for her fifth shutout of the season. CSU's Sarah Wood finished with four saves, including a sprawling stop in the first half on a blast from Kelsey Kochanowski.
