AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 1, 2010) - Lucy Keith scored a goal off a corner kick in the 99th minute to give Texas a 4-3 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team Friday evening at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The Panthers (6-4-2) twice fought back from one-goal deficits, but it was not enough as the Longhorns (7-2-2) got a hat trick from Kristin Cummins.

"It's a tough one to lose. I thought we had it," Milwaukee head coach Michael Moynihan said. "I was proud of the way we battled. It was exciting back and forth. I think we showed a lot of heart, a lot of fight, on the road again against a good team. We were in a position to win it. Overall, there are a lot of things to be optimistic about."

Sarah Hagen scored two goals and assisted on Demi Price's first career goal on her way to tying the school and Horizon league record with 57 career goals. She now shares both marks with former Panther Lisa Krzykowski (1994-97).

"It's a great accomplishment and honor," Hagen said of the record. "I couldn't have done it without my teammates (over the last three years). It's something I knew I was going to approach, but I don't want to settle. I'm going to try and score as many goals as I can."

The two teams played a similar style of soccer and found themselves in a back-and-forth tussle all night. Each side finished with 12 shots and four corner kicks, while controlling momentum for stretches at a time.

Hagen was the catalyst for the Milwaukee offense all night, finishing with seven of the Panthers' 12 shots. She got the scoring started in the 13th minute. A cross was played into the box that the Texas keeper mishandled. Hagen pounced on the loose ball and slotted it past a defender and into the net.

Cummins scored her first goal just a minute later and made it a 2-1 game in the 65th minute.

UWM refused to back down, tying the game on Price's score just over 11 minutes later. Hagen worked the ball to the endline around a trio of defenders and slipped a pass to the middle of the box for Price to finish.

After another Cummins goal, Hagen knotted the game again in the 85th minute on a rebound off the far post from Keara Thompson. Thompson beat the keeper with a shot to the far post, but drew iron. Hagen was in the right place for the right time and followed up with her 57th career goal.

The deciding score came on a corner kick near the end of overtime. Kylie Doniak's corner found Keith's foot for a volley to send the Longhorns to the victory.

Alexa Gaul made two saves and the UT defense chipped in another to secure the win for the Longhorns. Leslie Deebach got the start for UWM and stopped one shot in 79 minutes. Jamie Forbes played the final 21 and also made a save.

The Panthers return to action next weekend, returning to Milwaukee for their first game on Engelmann Field of the season. UWM takes on Valparaiso Friday at 7 p.m. and Butler Sunday at 1 p.m. Milwaukee and Valpo squared off in the last contest on Engelmann, a 4-0 Panther win in the 2009 Horizon League Championship.
