Dombrowski Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District

Nov. 1, 2007

MILWAUKEE - Senior Zeke Dombrowski of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.

Dombrowski is having a stellar senior season, as he currently leads the team in goals (4), assists (3), points (11), shots (49), shots on goal (18) and minutes played (1,640). Each of those totals besides minutes played represents a career-high. He has appeared in every one of UWM's 82 games in his four years, starting 72 times.

This season, his points have come at vital times as well, netting the game-winner against Wright State Oct. 7, while assisting the winning goal against Detroit Oct. 12 and the tying goal against Wisconsin Oct. 10.

In the classroom, Dombrowski has been named to the Horizon League Honor Roll and was selected Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week Oct. 8 this season.

As a member of the ESPN The Magazine All-District First Team in District 5, Dombrowski moves on to the national ballot later this month. He is one of three Horizon League players to earn the distinction, joined by Markian Zyga and Malcolm DeBaun of Loyola.

This marks the third-straight season that the Panthers have had at least one player on this prestigious team. A year ago, Billy Meier and Steve Sperl were both selected and Meier went on to earn national Academic All-American honors was well.
