LOS ANGELES - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team did exactly what it wanted to for 53 minutes in a showdown with No. 4 UCLA here Saturday (Sept. 12). UWM played the Bruins to a 0-0 score for nearly two-thirds of the game before UCLA exploded for four consecutive goals to claim a 4-0 victory. UCLA improved to 3-0-2 with the win while Milwaukee fell to 0-4-1 on the season.

"We did exactly what we wanted to in the first half," UWM head coach Michael Moynihan said. "We defended very well and Kerri St. Aubin made a couple of nice saves. However, UCLA made a couple of adjustments and put some athletes up top to create some dangerous chances. Once we got behind we seemed to think that we couldn't play with them anymore. But, I am proud of the way we played, especially early on."

UCLA's Kendal Billingsley broke the scoreless tie at the 53:42 mark when she fired home a shot from long range. Whitney Jones quickly made it 2-0 at the 61:29 plateau when she scored off an Iris Mora corner kick. Mora added her second assist on the game's third goal, when she set up a goal by Bristyn Davis at 67:57. The Bruins added one final goal at 78:55 when Stacy Lindstrom headed home a Stephanie Kron corner kick.

The UCLA lineup features three United States U-19 National players in Lindstrom and Davis while Mora has recently played for the Mexican National Team. The Bruins outshot UWM 26-2 on the game while taking nine corner kicks to the Panthers one. Kerri St. Aubin stopped a career-high 11 shots despite allowing three goals.

The Panthers will stay in Los Angeles thru the weekend where they will play again on Sunday. UWM will finish the Loyola Marymount Invitational by playing the host school at 3:30 p.m. CST on Sunday.
