GREEN BAY - Maria Viall scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds but it wasn't enough as the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee fell to Cleveland State University, 83-69, in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Women's Basketball Tournament here Thursday (Mar. 6). The No. 6 seeded Vikings controlled play most of the game and outscored UWM by eight points in each half. Milwaukee, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, ended its season at 15-13 while Cleveland State, 11-17, will advance to play No. 7 seed Detroit Friday (Mar. 7) at 5:00 p.m.

Cleveland State outrebounded UWM 35-33, and placed four players in double figures in the 16-point win. Erika Roudebush continually broke down the Panthers off the dribble as she scored 23 points. Ashley Schrock added 19 points to go with 11 boards and seven assists. Forward Shannon Sword added 18 points and center Karyn Woloszynek punched in 13. The junior, and league leader in blocked shots, added three rejections and two assists. Senior Jessica Wilhite, the league's all-time three-point shooter, finished with nine points on 3-of-10 from downtown while fellow senior Antoinette Gregory added two points and two steals.
