USF Too Much For Panthers

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The University of South Florida hit .331 for the match and committed just 12 hitting errors en route to a 30-15, 30-26, 30-27 win over UWM on day two of the Radisson Invitational at University Arena.

Sarah Potts had 12 kills and Larissa Cattanach added 10 to lead the Panthers (2-9), who hit just .138 for the match. Lindsey Spoden recorded another double-double with 30 assists and 11 digs to go along with five kills and a .417 hitting percentage.

Michelle Collier tallied 16 kills to lead the Bulls (10-3), who received votes in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll.

Senior Laina Bailey, in making one of her first appearances for the Panthers this season, recorded three kills and three blocks. UWM continues to play without senior Tari Boutin, sidelined with a broken finger, and junior Robin Alt, sidelined with am ACL injury. The Panthers are also getting only limited play this weekend from freshman standout Molly McNab, who was sidelined during the week with an illness.

"We did get better as the match went on and we did play with them in games two and three," UWM head coach Kathy Litzau said. "They may be the best team we have faced this year."

UWM completes play in the tournament at 3:30 p.m. CDT today against Syracuse.
