Sarah Potts had 14 kills and Tari Boutin 13 as UWM claimed an impressive 30-16, 30-25, 30-15 win over Youngstown State Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (15-11, 10-1 Horizon) limited the Penguins (8-18, 0-10) to a .038 hitting percentage in recording their 10th-straight league win. With the win, UWM stayed one-half game ahead of Loyola for the top spot in the Horizon League.
UWM hit .252 for the match and was never seriously threatened in any of the three games, limiting Youngstown to a negative hitting percentage in games one and three while recording nine blocks and outdigging the Penguins, 49-30. Potts led the Panthers with 13 digs.
"We were really only challenged in the second game," UWM head coach Kathy Litzau. "Sarah was the star, but it was another team effort where we did what we needed to do to win."
Larissa Cattanach added eight kills and six blocks while hitting .368 and Lindsey Spoden had 39 assists and 11 digs.
The Panthers return to action Friday night, hosting UW-Green Bay at the Klotsche Center in a 7 p.m. match.
