11th-Ranked Panthers Kick Badgers In OT

Oct. 16, 2002

Final Stats

MADISON, Wis. - Antou Jallow deflected home a Chad Dombrowski shot with just under three minutes gone in overtime to give UWM a 1-0 win over Wisconsin Wednesday evening.

The 11th-ranked Panthers (10-1-1) outshot the Badgers 17-6 in claiming their 10th-straight win. It's the longest UWM winning streak since the 1985 team started the season 12-0 and it ranks as the second-best streak in the nation.

Jallow's game-winner at the 92:58 mark was his league-high 14th goal of the season. The play was triggered when B.J. Blake sent a ball across the top of the box to Dombrowski, who cracked a low shot toward goal. Jallow, who was stationed about five yards from goal on the shot, got a touch on the ball to redirect it past Badger goalkeeper Eric Hanson and set off a wild on-field celebration.

Panther goalkeeper Chris Dadaian recorded one save in collecting his fifth shutout of the season and his eighth win without a defeat.

The Badgers (7-6-0) entered the match ranked eighth in the most recent NSCAA/Great Lakes Region Poll. The Panthers sit second in the region.

UWM continues a tough week Sunday, playing a noon central time contest at Detroit. The Titans entered the week ranked 10th in the region.
