CINCINNATI, Ohio -
Seventeen service aces were too many for the UWM women's volleyball team to overcome, as 26th-ranked Cincinnati claimed a 30-16, 30-20, 30-24 win over the Panthers Sunday afternoon.
Laura Dallenbach and Chrissy Schurla had eight kills apiece for the Panthers, who wrapped up their regular season with the loss. The highlight of the match for UWM was its blocking. As a team the Panthers had 10.5 blocks, with Tari Boutin recording five and Carly Allison collecting four.
The Panthers (17-7) now turn their attention to the Horizon League Tournament, which will be held Friday through Sunday at Klotsche Center. UWM will hold the second seed in the tournament and will be looking to claim their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament bid. The full bracket and match times will be announced on Monday.
Cincinnati (19-6), also ranked number one in the Midwest Region, won for the 17th time in their last 18 matches.
