Oct. 5, 2001

Box Score

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Julie Yankus collected 12 kills and Laura Dallenbach added 11 as UWM rolled to its fourth-straight win, 30-20, 30-21, 30-26, over Youngstown St. Friday night.

Yankus and Dallenbach each recorded double-doubles, as Dallenbach collected 14 digs and Yankus tallied 11.

Tari Boutin added nine kills and Chrissy Schurla pitched-in with eight for the Panthers (8-5, 3-1 Horizon League). UWM dominated in every statistical category, including kills (52-39), hitting percentage (.343 to .211), digs (52-33) and aces (8-4).

"It was a good one to win," head coach Kathy Litzau said. "I felt like we stayed in control and played very well throughout all three games. The first two games were close until about 15 or 16 and then we pulled away, while the third game was close throughout.

"I was very pleased to see we battled to the finish in all three games," Litzau said. "Especially to do it on the road, it was a strong performance."

Boutin hit .563 and did not make a hitting error in the match, while Yankus and middle blocker Carly Allison each hit better than .300.

"You can tell just by looking at the numbers that Tari played very well," Litzau said. "We hit well and generally played well in every area."

Laura Svette led Youngstown St. (8-4, 1-3) with 10 kills.

UWM continues its two-match road trip Saturday afternoon at Cleveland St.
