MILWAUKEE - The UWM men's basketball team limited Wright State to one field goal during a nine-minute stretch of the second half en route to a 56-43 win at the Klotsche Center Thursday night.

Chad Angeli and James Wright scored 11 points apiece for the Panthers (10-7, 2-2 MCC), who won for the second straight time.

The game was tied at 22-22 at halftime, but UWM expanded the advantage to 37-28 on a Ronnie Jones layup with 10:30 to play. After a Vernard Hollins jumper with 10:01 left pulled Wright State to within 37-30, the Raiders did not score a field goal until 1:05 to play.

"It was just a great team effort," senior Chad Angeli, who made his 100th career start Thursday, said. "It was the little things like the rotation and the help that put the puzzle together tonight."

"The team, defensively, did a great job helping one another," coach Bo Ryan said. "On the glass, we limited them. The guys just did the job."

UWM built an early 13-6 advantage, but Wright State (11-6, 3-2) limited the Panthers to just nine points over the last 12:33 of the first half. The Panthers, though, never trailed in the second half after Angeli opened the scoring with a layup 15 seconds in.

"In the second half, we attacked," Ryan said. "The way they overplayed, we had guys going to the hoop. We made some excellent feeds into the post. And on the overplays, we were forcing them to expose themselves so we could get to the basket."

The Panthers return to action Saturday at home against Butler. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
