UWM's Scott Dombrowski Drafted By NPSL

Jan. 11, 2001

MILWAUKEE-Scott Dombrowski (West Allis, Wis./Hale), a senior defender/midfielder on the UWM men's soccer team this past season, has been drafted by the Milwaukee Wave of the National Professional Soccer League.

In the January 10 draft, Dombrowski was chosen by the Wave in the territorial draft prior to the first round. Milwaukee received the 11th and final pick of each round after winning the league championship in 2000.

The former Panther captain had a successful collegiate career from 1997-2000 at UWM. He was named first team all-conference this past fall for the second consecutive year while recording one goal, one assist as a central defender. Dombrowski had a breakthrough year in 1999 as he was named to the all-region team after posting 13 points as a midfielder. He was also named to the Soccer America Team of the Week after a hat trick performance against conference rival UIC that same year.

Dombrowski joins a long list of UWM Panthers who have played for Milwaukee's professional indoor soccer team. Recently, Chris Jahr, Erik White, Jake Provan, Jason Rienzi, and Paul Royal have all played for the Wave. Last year, former UWM midfielder Tony Colvin was drafted by the Milwaukee Wave.
