UWM Men's Soccer Blanks TCU

Sept. 5, 1999

Madison, Wis. - UWM Senior midfielder Byron Huson scored the game's only goal four minutes into overtime as the Panthers defeated TCU, 1-0, at Wisconsin's tournament on Sunday.

UWM defeated St. Mary's, 1-0, in the tournament's first game on Friday. The Panthers improve to 2-0 on the season.

"We played the tempo we wanted to play," said UWM head coach Louis Bennett. "We had many opportunities, but we just failed to put the finishing touch on them."

Four minutes into overtime, UWM senior midfielder Tony Colvin collected a corner kick on the left side of the goal and knocked it over to Huson on the right side. It was Huson's first goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Chris Dadaian recorded his second shutout in as many games for UWM.

The Panthers return to Milwaukee to host Wisconsin, Eastern Michigian and Western Michigan at the Panther Invitational. Games begin at noon on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 at Bavarian Field.
