Men's Soccer wins Panther Invitational

Sept. 12, 1999

Milwaukee - The UWM men's soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 2-1 win over Eastern Michigan in the Panther Invitational on Sunday.

UWM took a 1-0 lead when Tony Colvin redirected a shot from Bobby de St. Aubin in the 20th minute. Colvin, who assisted on a goal in UWM's win over Western Michigan on Saturday, was named tournament MVP.

EMU tied the game on a penalty kick in the 31st minute. It was the first goal allowed by UWM all season.

The game remained tied until the 12th minute of overtime, when Byron Huson crossed a ball that de St. Aubin knocked into the goal.

"We work on those a lot, to make it a familiar situation," said UWM head coach Louis Bennett.

Five Panthers were named to the All-Tournament team: Chad Dombrowski, Scott Dombrowski, Chris Dadaian, Huson and Colvin.

UWM returns to play on Wednesday, when crosstown rival Marquette comes to Uihlein Soccer Park (71st and Good Hope) for a 7:30 p.m. game. UWM plays Marshall at the Vanderbilt tournament.
