Indianapolis - The UWM men's soccer team fell to 11-7-1 overall, 4-1-1 in MCC play with a 3-0 loss to Butler on Friday night.
"We had great opportunities to score," said UWM coach Louis Bennett. "But we weren't good enough tonight."
The Bulldogs scored a goal in the first half, and then scored two goals late in the second half.
"We kept pushing up to get the goal back," said Bennett. "But that allowed them to score on some breakaways. It was a hostile environment here, much like Engelmann Field back in its heyday."
The Panthers need to defeat Wright State in Dayton on Sunday and have UIC to lose to Detroit on Saturday to secure the MCC regular season championship. A win against Wright State would guarantee a second-place finish.
