Cleveland, Ohio - The wins just kept on coming for the UWM women's volleyball team as they defeated Cleveland State, 3-0, Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Panthers to 19-1 on the season, 7-0 in the MCC. The victory comes the day after a 2 1/2 hour marathon match against Akron which saw UWM win 3-2.
Katie Schneider's (Sr., S, West Bend, Wis.) 57 assists put her over 1,000 assists on the season (1,021). The senior captain needs just 171 more to surpass 5,000 for her career.
The Panthers had a scare early as they narrowly won the first game, 16-14, against the Raiders. But, UWM never looked back winning the final two games, 15-8, 15-12, respectively.
The win keeps UWM atop the MCC at 7-0, ahead of Loyola, who fell to 5-2 after a loss to Wright State Friday night.
Laura Dallenbach (So., OH, Waterloo, Iowa) recorded 24 digs and 15 kills to propell the Panthers to victory. Three other Panthers recorded double-figure kills in the win.
The Panthers next have their final home stand of the year where they will play host to UW-Green Bay, DePaul, Loyola, and Illinois-Chicago.
