MILWAUKEE - The UWM women's volleyball kept its undefeated conference season alive at 5-0 by topping Wright State, 3-0, Friday night. Sue Rashka (Sr., Chicago, Ill.-Immaculate Heart of Mary) led UWM with 20 kills as the Panthers move to 16-1, 5-0 in the MCC.
UWM stayed in control for most of the match, systematically tallying points to take the win.
The teams exchanged points to start the first game before UWM pulled away to win, 15-9. The Panthers trailed the start of the second game, 3-1, but exploded past the Raiders to a 6-3 lead. UWM kept on the attack, taking game two, 15-10.
The Panthers started slowly in game three, falling behind 4-1. At one point, the teams exchanged 16 consecutive sideouts before UWM took a commanding 9-4 lead. Katie Schneider's (Sr., West Bend, Wis.-East) 50 assists in the match helped propel the Panthers to the 15-10 game-three victory and the 3-0 match win.
