UWM Defeated by the United States Professional Volleyball League Dream Team

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee volleyball team faced some of the nation?s top volleyball players tonight when they took on the newly-formed United States Professional Volleyball League (USPV) Dream Team in an exhibition match-up at UWM?s Klotsche Center. The Panthers fell in straight games to the Dream Team, 15-2, 15-9, 15-6.

The Dream Team was led by Patrice Arrington (OH, 5-9, University of Oklahoma) with 15 kills. Tiffany Carrethers (MB, 6-1, Rice University) followed with 13 kills and a .667 hitting percentage, along with 9 digs. For the Panthers, Laura Dallenbach (OH, So., Waterloo, Iowa, West) turned in a team-leading 11 kills and 10 digs, followed by Sue Raschka (MB, Chicago, Ill., Immaculate Heart of Mary) with 10 kills and 3 digs. As a team, the Dream Team hit .443 compared to the Panthers .200 hitting percentage.

The Panthers (15-1, 4-0 in the MCC) return to conference action on Friday night when they play host to Wright State at 7 p.m. and on Saturday night when they take on Butler at 4 p.m. Both matches will be held in UWM?s J. Martin Klotsche Center.
