Former Milwaukee baseball standout
Chad Pierce was added to Scott Doffek's 2015 coaching staff in the role of volunteer assistant coach. He will continue to serve in that capacity for the 2017 campaign.
Selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 38th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, Pierce officially retired as a player following the conclusion of the 2014 campaign.
He spent his final two seasons with the Brevard County Manatees, the Brewers Class A Advanced affiliate in the Florida State League. That followed a single year with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, winning the Midwest League Championship in 2012. He spent 2011 with the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League as an MiLB rookie.
For his minor league career, he appeared in 99 games, making 34 starts. He recorded 18 victories, three saves and a 4.02 ERA in 333.1 innings of work. Additionally, he struck out nearly a batter an inning, finishing his career with 309 strikeouts.
“He has a very good baseball IQ and a desire to share it with others,” Doffek said. “I am extremely excited to have Chad back in a Panther uniform and enjoyed watching him grow as a player and now look forward to seeing him grow as a coach.”
