Ashlee McGee begins her second season as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

McGee comes to Milwaukee after most recently serving as the women’s basketball assistant coach at Tennessee State University since the summer of 2012.

Prior to that, she was the graduate assistant at Tennessee State, handling all aspects of the program’s administrative duties as well as assisting with team travel, film exchange, on campus recruiting and summer camps.

“I feel extremely fortunate that we were able to find such a quality person and coach in our most recent hire,” head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. “Ashlee brings us college experience in a number of areas including recruiting and point-guard development. She is going to help take our program to a new level with the overall work ethic of our staff. I look forward to helping her grow as an assistant coach as well.”

She enjoyed a four-year career as a player at Austin Peay State University from 2004-08, serving as a team co-captain. The MVP her senior season, McGee led the league in assists her final year and was also on the Dean’s List and athletic honor roll for her work in the classroom. She started 26 of 29 games her final campaign, averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.

After graduation, McGee went to Indiana University to pursue a master’s degree in applied sports science. She has also worked summer camps with Kansas University, Lipscomb University and IUPUI.
