Fricke won five letters in basketball, four in football and one in track before earning his B.S. in 1949 from Milwaukee State Teachers College. He was named to the league?s all-conference teams several times throughout his career. A member of the Old Timers Baseball Association, Fricke played for Falk Corporation in the Industrial League, winning three state titles and a national crown during his career. The leading hitter in the league in 1956, Fricke went on to win the loop?s most valuable player award twice before retiring. He was an assistant in football and baseball at Messmer High School.
