A two-time Horizon League Outdoor Outstanding Track Performer at the conference championships, Edwards was also named Horizon League Indoor and Outdoor Track Newcomer of the Year in 2005.

At the 2007 Horizon League Outdoor Championships, he won both the 100m and 200m for the third consecutive season and broke the League record in the 200m as the Panthers won their eighth consecutive outdoor championship.
