An Honor Ten graduate from Milwaukee State Teachers College, Dreyer was one of the outstanding football players in the history of the school. He gained his law degree from Marquette after serving in the Air Force during World War II, and has since been active in UWM activities and various lawyer groups. He is a member of the American and Wisconsin Bar Associations.
