Latus set 11 individual and eight relay records throughout her career. She qualified for Nationals in numerous events and was All-American in 1974, 1975 and 1976. She finished second in the National Pentathlon in 1976 and was listed in "Track and Field News" as one of America's top 15 pentathletes.
