Lemmer earned 12 letters and captained three sports during his career at UWM. He set, then bettered, conference marks in the low hurdles, 440- yard dash and won all events in the indoor meet as a freshman. He was twice invited to the national AAU decathlon meets. Lemmer was named all-conference in basketball and he played on the Allen Bradley Company entry in the National Industrial League after his graduation in 1951.
