Zimdars earned four letters in volleyball and captained in the team her senior year. She was a member of the 100 Club, winning 128 matches during her career. In 1992 she won the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics/Disney Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to only 10 student-athletes national in honor of academic excellence. This defensive specialist received scholar-athlete honors all four years and was the first-ever UWM graduate to maintain a 4.0 grade-point average in civil engineering.
