Tarntino played in every football game during his four-year career as an offensive and defensive halfback. He also punted in the 1949 and '50 seasons and was on the 1947 conference championship team. In track, Tarantino won four letters in the sprints and half-mile relay, javelin and long jump. He placed in all state meets in the dashes and long jump and helped the Green Gulls win conference championships in 1948, '50 and '51.
