Darin Haugom (1997-2001) helped put Milwaukee baseball on the map, leading the Panthers to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first in 1999, during which it knocked off top-ranked Rice in the opening round of the NCAA Regional. He also was a key player on the 2001 team that set a school-record with 39 wins and collected another NCAA berth.

A three-time all-conference honoree, the five-tool outfielder was tabbed 2001 Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Year after batting .423 with 61 runs scored and 48 RBI. The right-handed hitting Haugom ranks among Milwaukee's all-time leaders in total bases (382), runs scored (179), hits (245), stolen bases (73), RBI (138), home runs (23) and triples (12). Haugom was at his best when the lights shined the brightest, earning MCC All-Tournament Team accolades on a pair of occasions.
