A 1933 graduate at Milwaukee State Teachers College, Hendley received four letters in basketball. He was captain of the team in 1930. He is a retired area administrator for Milwaukee School Board Department of Recreation. He was with the department for 43 years, during the period when adult education and recreation activities won national recognition. He is a life member of the UWM Alumni Association.
