Among her career highlights were a runner-up finish in the shot put at the 1997 Kansas Relays and a third-place finish in the shot put in the 1998 Kansas Relays. She also won Midwestern Collegiate Conference titles in the shot put in both 1995 and 1997, while her team finished second in the league at the outdoor championships in 1997.
Marshall also excelled in the classroom, earning the 1997 Herman Kluge Award and the 1997 Leadership Award. She was also the NCAA State of Wisconsin Woman Athlete of the Year Nominee in 1997. Her excellence in the classroom has continued since she completed her undergraduate career. She earned her masters degree from UWM in 2001 and has been working toward her doctoral degree while teaching classes at New York University.
