Panther Student-Athletes Continue To Shine In Classroom

Extend streak of consecutive semesters with a 3.0 grade-point average to 36

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee student-athletes continue to score high marks in the classroom and during the Spring 2018 semester posted a collective 3.349 grade-point average.

That followed up the Fall 2017 term where Panther student-athletes notched a 3.317 GPA.

This marks the 36th consecutive semester that Milwaukee student-athletes have recorded a GPA of 3.0 or better. During the Spring 2018 semester, 84 Panthers compiled a GPA of at least 3.8, while 34 of those achieved a perfect 4.0 mark.

"The numbers continue to show what an amazing job our student-athletes do when it comes to their performance in the classroom," Director of Athletics Amanda Braun said. "To be closing in on nearly two decades of consecutive semesters with over a 3.0-GPA as a department is a testament to the hard work of our student-athletes, our coaches and our academic support staff."

Led by the women's tennis program, which posted a near-perfect 3.916 GPA during the recently completed semester, eight Milwaukee teams achieved a GPA of at least 3.40 for the term.

Overall, MKE student-athletes collectively carry a cumulative GPA of a 3.37.
