MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee student-athletes continue to score high marks in the classroom and during the Spring 2018 semester posted a collective 3.349 grade-point average.
That followed up the Fall 2017 term where Panther student-athletes notched a 3.317 GPA.
This marks the 36
th consecutive semester that Milwaukee student-athletes have recorded a GPA of 3.0 or better. During the Spring 2018 semester, 84 Panthers compiled a GPA of at least 3.8, while 34 of those achieved a perfect 4.0 mark.
"The numbers continue to show what an amazing job our student-athletes do when it comes to their performance in the classroom," Director of Athletics
Amanda Braun said. "To be closing in on nearly two decades of consecutive semesters with over a 3.0-GPA as a department is a testament to the hard work of our student-athletes, our coaches and our academic support staff."
Led by the women's tennis program, which posted a near-perfect 3.916 GPA during the recently completed semester, eight Milwaukee teams achieved a GPA of at least 3.40 for the term.
Overall, MKE student-athletes collectively carry a cumulative GPA of a 3.37.
Volleyball (3.643), women's track & field (3.580), women's cross country (3.546), women's basketball (3.504), men's cross country (3.504), women's swimming & diving (3.475), and women's soccer (3.441) also posted GPA's of 3.40 or higher.
