MILWAUKEE – Francesco Saporito of the Milwaukee men's soccer team and
Lizzie Odegard of the Milwaukee women's basketball team have been selected to the Horizon League's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, announced earlier this week by the league office.
Saporito, a Health Sciences major, will be a senior on the soccer team this fall. A regular starter for the squad, he has appeared in 56 career games, recording 30 points on 8 goals and 14 assists. He finished sixth in the Horizon League in points as a sophomore and is considered one of the best free-kick specialists in the league.
Odegard was a Horizon League All-Freshman Team member her first season and appeared in all 33 games this past winter as a sophomore. She averaged 3.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 2017-18, while hitting 84.6 percent of her free throw attempts. She has appeared in 64 games over her first two seasons, recording 264 points and 246 rebounds.
SAAC is comprised of current student-athletes who provide insight into the student-athlete experience by promoting, fostering, designing and implementing programs that encourage academic achievement, professional development, health-conscious life choices and social responsibility. SAAC also provides suggestions and feedback to help enhance the student-athlete experience.
