Lindner, Kostowicz Selected All-Horizon League

Kostowicz honored for third consecutive season

INDIANAPOLIS – The Milwaukee women's basketball team had a pair of players named to the All-Horizon League teams, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. Jenny Lindner and Steph Kostowicz were both named to the All-League Second Team following another 20-win regular season for the Panthers.

Lindner receives league postseason honors for the first time since being named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2015. Now in her senior season, Lindner has taken her game to a new level. She is averaging a team-best 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, with those numbers shooting up to 15.4 points and 9.1 rebounds in conference play. She has finished with double-digit scoring in 22 of her 29 games this season, including six 20+ point performances and going off for a career-high 34 points in a road win at Western Illinois. A two-time conference player of the week this season, Lindner has also notched eight double-doubles this season to up her career total to 20 – now tied for fifth-most in program history. She also broke the school record for most starts in her career in her final home game with her 121st start in a Panther uniform.

Kostowicz earns her third consecutive all-league team selection. Also a senior, the Franklin, Wis., native is averaging 14.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in her final collegiate season. Kostowicz started her season off win a bang, earning the conference's first player of the week award of the year following a 26-point, 12-rebound performance in the Preseason WNIT opener at Drake. Since then, she has added another six double-doubles to up her career total to 30 – third most in program history. She also broke the school record for most blocks in a season with her 54th coming in her final home game.

While UWM has had at least one representative on the all-league squad for 20 of the last 23 years, this marks the first time Milwaukee has had a pair of representatives on the 10-player all-league team since 2005-06 when Traci Edwards and Nichole Drummond were both honored for their efforts.

Both Lindner and Kostowicz have completely rewritten the Milwaukee record books, entering this year's postseason sitting in the top-10 in points, scoring average, rebounds, rebounding average, games started and games played, among many other categories.

The Horizon League teams are set to invade downtown Detroit for the Little Caesars Horizon League Championships. The action tips off Friday, March 2 at the brand new Little Caesars Arena.
