MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee men's and women's basketball teams invite you to join them on Spaights Plaza for a kickoff to the upcoming 2017-18 basketball season.
 
The "Panthers on the Plaza" event is scheduled for Thursday, October 12^th on the UWM campus, on Spaights Plaza outside the Union, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
 
Participants who stop by can take part in interactive games and activities with the student-athletes and coaches from both programs.
 
In addition, there will be the opportunity to win prizes, including exclusive Adidas gear. A pair of tickets to the Milwaukee Bucks "Return to the Mecca" game, which is scheduled for October 26 at UWM Panther Arena, will also be raffled off.
 
Complimentary food will be provided by Noodles and Company (while supplies last) and the first 400 fans will receive an Adidas waterbottle.
 
Starting at 1 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to listen to the season outlook from both Coach Pat Baldwin and Coach Kyle Rechlicz, who both tip off the new season in just over a month.
 
The event is free and open to the public, as well as to UWM students and staff.
