Ed McCants and his group of Milwaukee Panther basketball alumni are not only playing to represent their school, they are also playing for a greater cause. The team has announced it will donate $200,000 to help combat the heroin epidemic should they win.
Â
Over the course of the rest of the month of May we will look at the roster that has been assembled. Up next is
Cody Wichmann.
Â
Wichmann spent the majority of last season as the team's leading scorer, finishing the campaign at just under 13 points a game. He played in 126 career contests – more than any other Panther in program history. Wichmann sank nearly 100 3's as a senior and piled up close to 200 in his career. A two-time member of the Horizon League All-Academic Team, Wichmann has also been a regular member of the NABC Honors Court and leaves the program as the third-most accurate 3-point shooter in program history at 40 percent. He helped UWM to an NCAA Tournament appearance as a freshman in 2014 and nearly capped his career with another NCAA bid this season.
