Rechlicz Adds Amanda Baierl To Incoming Class

Port Washington native “always dreamed” of being a Panther

MILWAUKEE – Amanda Baierl has officially signed her papers to join the Milwaukee women's basketball team, Panther head coach Kyle Rechlicz announced today.

Baierl is a senior at nearby Port Washington High School and just finished her final season with the Pirates.

"We are thrilled to be adding Amanda to our Panther family," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "Her enthusiasm for Milwaukee is undeniable and I appreciate the worker's mentality that she plans on bringing to our program. I know that she will improve under our leadership and I look forward to making her into the best possible player she can become."

A 6-foot post player, Baierl eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career early on during her senior season this past winter. She was selected as an All-North Shore Conference two times, including a first-team honoree as a junior. Baierl – the Pirate's team MVP the last two seasons – was also headlined by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel after a pair of outstanding back-to-back games where she combined for 48 points, 26 rebounds and seven blocks.

"I've always dreamed of playing for UW-Milwaukee," Baierl said. "After meeting the staff, players and touring the campus, it felt like home. I'm extremely grateful to be given this opportunity to follow my dreams."
