·        This is MACC's 41st year - having started on the Milwaukee Arena floor during a Bucks game on the Retirement Night of the "Original Buck," Jon McGlocklin.  Jon is the MACC Fund's President.  He is its Co-Founder along with Eddie Doucette, the iconic "Voice of the Bucks" and Naismith Hall of Fame broadcaster.  Doucette's son Brett was diagnosed as a toddler in 1975 and inspired the MACC Fund.  He is now married, a dad and living in California.
·        The MACC Fund has contributed – not raised – over $59 million to research in Wisconsin since starting in 1976.
·        This research impacts the treatment of kids throughout the state, nation and world.
·        Overall cure rates for childhood cancer have risen from 20% in 1976 to 80% now with help from groups like the MACC Fund especially as federal research funding is being cut back.
·        Kids still relapse though and have "late effect" issues requiring more research.
·        The MACC Fund also supports research into blood disorders like aplastic anemia and sickle cell disease.
·        The Research is conducted in the MACC Fund Research Center at The Medical College of Wisconsin, in the MACC Fund Center at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and in the MACC Fund Childhood Cancer Research Wing at the Carbone Cancer Center at the University of Wisconsin.
·        The MACC Fund has the highest "4-Star" rating by Charity Navigator, the nation's leading charity evaluator ratings firm.
