MILWAUKEE - Men's basketball head coach
LaVall Jordan officially announced that Vance Johnson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Milwaukee Panthers.
Johnson is the second signee for Milwaukee Basketball this Spring signing period.
Johnson, a Chicago area native, comes to Milwaukee from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, where he played two years for the Hawks.
"We are excited to announce that Vance and his family have officially signed to be Panthers," Jordan said. "Vance is a high-character young man and will have a positive impact in our locker room immediately. He brings size, athleticism and a versatile skill set to the court. His strong work ethic is contagious and will help our team continue to improve. We're excited about his future as a Panther."
As a sophomore this past season, the 6-foot-9 Johnson was named Second Team Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region after averaging 13.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. A force in the paint, he led the team in scoring and rebounding while shooting a team-high 60.2 percent from the field.
As a freshman, Johnson put up 9.0 ppg and 6.7 rpg while shooting 45 percent from the floor. He is a 2014 graduate of Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, Ill.
