MILWAUKEE - Caleb Nero has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Milwaukee Panthers, it was officially announced today by men's basketball head coach
LaVall Jordan.

Nero is a senior at Tulsa Memorial High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and just wrapped up his final season in which his team claimed the Class 5A Boys State Championship.

"I am thrilled to announce that Caleb is officially a member of the Panther Basketball family," Jordan said. "Caleb's character and work ethic are unquestioned and he will fit in with our team immediately. Caleb brings a great basketball IQ and knack for scoring to our team. His love for the game is admirable and it will help him constantly improve from the day he steps on campus. We are excited to help him develop as a player, student and young man during his time a Milwaukee."

The Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Class 5A Player of the Year averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game while leading his team to the state championship game for the second year in a row – claiming the title this season with a 26-point/7-rebound/4-assist effort that capped a 25-3 campaign.

The OCA Large East All-State honoree was a team captain and ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Oklahoma by MaxPreps.com. Other postseason honors included a spot on
The Oklahoman's Super 5 team and the 2017 Elite 8 Ford Player of the Year Award.

The First-Team Green Country All-Conference selection was named the 2017 conference MVP, also breaking the school scoring record earlier in the season with a 43-point outburst against McLain.

Nero reset the school single-season scoring record and was named
Tulsa World's 5A State Tournament most valuable player. He shined in the postseason – scoring 180 points in eight career state tournament contests for an average of 22.5 points per game.

Nero helped his team record an overall record of 50-7 over his final two seasons. He also finished as the school's all-time record-holder for most three-pointers made in a career and second all-time in points scored (1,713).
