MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee men's basketball fans will have an opportunity to get their first look at the 2017-18 squad under the direction of first-year head coach
Pat Baldwin when it hosts the annual Black & Gold Scrimmage Friday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Klotsche Center.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for team warm-ups and admission is free to the public.
UWM students in attendance will be entered to win a $50 gift card to Belair.
The scrimmage will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include opening comments and player introductions from Coach Baldwin in addition to two 15-minute halves of basketball. The team will be available to sign autographs following the scrimmage.
Baldwin returns four starters from last year's roster that ended the season in memorable fashion by playing all the way into the Horizon league Tournament Championship, missing a trip to the NCAA Tournament by just six points. Six of the top seven scorers from last season are back, including
Brock Stull, who led the Panthers in scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg).
The new campaign tips off soon, with the season opener scheduled for November 10 against La Crosse. That game will tip at 7 p.m. at UWM Panther Arena. The team will also host Wisconsin Lutheran in an exhibition contest November 2, also at 7 p.m.
Season tickets start for as little as $75 for men and $25 for women and are on sale for the 2017-18 Milwaukee basketball season. They can be ordered by calling (414) 229-5886.
Individual game tickets and mini-plans will go on sale October 17.
