MILWAUKEE - The wait is over and the 2017-18 Milwaukee basketball season is nearly here.

Pat Baldwin  and the Panther men start their regular season Nov. 10 against La Crosse at UWM Panther Arena and also play Wisconsin Lutheran in an exhibition contest at the Klotsche Center Nov. 2, in addition to the exhibition against Marquette Sunday.

Kyle Rechlicz and the UWM women open their regular season Nov. 10 on the road against Drake, while also hosting an exhibition contest when they welcome Cornell College to campus Nov. 5.
 
Both basketball teams took part in "Media Day" activities yesterday, with numerous members of the local sports media scene on hand at the Pavilion and Klotsche Center to help set the stage for the new campaign.
 
In addition to press conferences for each team for questions from local television, radio station and print media members, the Black & Gold Network and host Matt Menzl also talked to players about the upcoming season.
