MILWAUKEE - Fans of the Milwaukee men's basketball team got their first look at the 2017-18 squad in action Friday night, coming out to the Klotsche Center for the annual "Black & Gold" Scrimmage.

In a closely-contested matchup featuring two 15-minute halves, the GOLD team came out on top, 44-41, after
Bryce Barnes made 3-of-4 free throws in the final 22.1 seconds.

Fans and season-ticket holders were able to enjoy the evening, seeing the Panthers in action for the first time in addition to hearing from head coach
Pat Baldwin, who addressed the crowd pregame.

Bryce Nze paced the winning side with nine points, just missing a double-double after adding 10 rebounds.
Jeremy Johnson chipped in eight.

On the BLACK roster,
Baylor Peterson led the way with nine points.
Seth Dittmer added a solid stat line of four points, nine boards and five blocks.

The Panthers are back in action Sunday, when they head across town to take on Marquette at 4 p.m.
