Save the Date: Panther Fandemonium Is Set for October 8

Basketball season is right around the corner

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee basketball fans will have an opportunity to share the excitement for the upcoming 2016-17 season by attending Panther Fandemonium October 8.

During Homecoming Week, the Milwaukee Athletic Department will hold Panther Fandemonium, a free fan fest, on campus at Klotsche Center, from 1-3 p.m.

The afternoon will be filled with plenty of interactive opportunities with Milwaukee men's and women's basketball players and coaches. Attendees will also have chances to get autographs from members of both teams and win prizes.

In addition, fans will be able to meet the coaching staffs from both squad as well as have the opportunity to purchase season tickets and mini-plans at the event.

Free food will also be available from athletic department sponsors while supplies last. The Klotsche Center Pavilion Parking lot and all surrounding lots on campus will be available at a reduced rate of $3 for Homecoming festivities.

Head coach LaVall Jordan is ready for his first season at the helm, leading the men's program into the new campaign. The women's team, led by fifth-year head coach Kyle Rechlicz, is coming off its most successful season in over a decade.

The 2016 Horizon League Coach of the Year, Rechlicz guided her team to a 19-13 overall record and a second-place finish in the league standings, making just the third trip to the postseason in program history with a berth to the WNIT.

The squad returns First-Team All-Horizon League honoree Steph Kostowicz (team-high 14.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game) as well as three other regular starters in Sierra Ford-Washington (13.6 ppg), Jenny Lindner (13.0 ppg) and Alexis Lindstrom (9.0 ppg).
