MILWAUKEE - Matt Tiby of the Milwaukee men's basketball team has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 12 Second Team, the organization announced today.
 
Tiby helped the Panthers to 20 wins and was named an All-Horizon League First Team selection after leading the team with 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, finishing seventh in the conference in scoring and fourth in rebounding.
 
Just the 15^th player in program history to reach the combined 1,000 points/500 rebound level in a career, Tiby was a starter in all 98 games he appeared in during his time in Milwaukee.
 
Tiby was also named a second-team all-league selection as a junior. His career high in points scored came against South Dakota in December, when he went off for 31 on the night he became the 26^th player in program history to reach 1,000 points.
 
In just three years in a Panther uniform, Tiby leaves his name all over the UWM record book. His 1,332 points scored is 11^th all-time and fifth among players since the Panthers joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 1990. His career rebounding total of 734 is sixth all-time, second in the DI ranks and his career per-game average of 7.5 rebounds per contest is the highest in program history.
 
His 98 games started ranks fifth and he also finished eighth in minutes played.
 
Tiby was one of five Horizon League players named to the all-district squad. Kay Felder (Oakland) and Alec Peters (Valparaiso) were on the first team while Carrington Love (Green Bay) and Paris Bass (Detroit) joined Tiby on the second team.
 
He is the first Panther to be named NABC All-District since Anthony Hill was a member of the second team at the end of the 2010-11 campaign.
