DETROIT, Mich. - Life on the road with the Milwaukee men's basketball team includes plenty to keep the team busy. Whether it's practice, studying, watching film or shootaround, the student-athletes are always on the go once they leave the friendly confines of Milwaukee.
Â
This weekend's trip to Michigan was no different. Until Friday afternoon that is, when the entire coaching staff and majority of the team hopped on the bus and headed to the Burger Baylor Elementary Autism School.
Â
"Any time we have a chance to give back and have basketball included in that, it's always a fun day for us," Milwaukee head coach
Rob Jeter said. "Basketball has done so much for all of the guys on our team and it's always good to give back."
 Â
While at the school in nearby Inkster, Mich., the team took on the Broncos in a four-quarter "matchup" played in front of family, friends and staff as well as cheerleaders and media cameras. The outing was put together with help from the Autism Alliance of Michigan.
Â
"This is what the alliance is all about," Program Director for the Autism Alliance of Michigan Tammy Morris said. "It is about giving these kids experiences like this that their typical peers might get and to make them feel valued and important. We are so grateful. The (Milwaukee) players were naturals at making people feel included and having a good time."

Following warmups and starting lineup introductions, the Panthers dropped a hard-fought 51-48 decision to the Broncos.
